1 Dirham Altimet 999.0 Silver Coin Cond: A+

Altimet is a contemporary entertainer in Malaysia and brave enough to warn the evil effects of usury to society.

Altimet’s song named “Bunga”,  a Malay word for interest on loans, exposes three things that make up the usury bedrock. Altimet’s Bunga brings the audience’s attention to focus on usury. Second, Bunga warns against the danger of paper money. Finally, Bunga warns against the charging of interest on loans.

The design on the obverse face of the coin is the effigy of Altimet himself wearing a headgear called “tengkolok”  in Malay, as worn by brave Malay Nobels and Worriers of yesteryears signifies the nobility of actions fortified by the courage of worriers. The reverse of the coin is Altimet Logo in geometric.

The card tells the story of our current predicament. The shadow puppet on the card signifies us the consumers, oblivious to be under the spell of a usurious system by virtue of our desires. The folded origami of paper money has morphed the paper to be beautiful flowers close to our hearts.

1 Dirham Silver 999.0 - Demak Great Mosque, Indonesia (2017) - Cond:A+

A classic example of a traditional Javanese mosque, Demak Great Mosque is located in the center town of Demak, Central Java Indonesia.  It is one of the oldest mosques in Indonesia and is believed to be built during the 15th century by the Nine Muslim Saints (Wali Songo) with the most prominent figure Sunan Kalijaga, during the first Demak Sultanate ruler, Raden Patah.

Unlike other mosques, the roof of the mosque is a tiered roof instead of a dome, which shows many similarities with wooden religious structures from the Hindu-Buddhist civilizations of Java and Bali. Maintaining the traditional design of Javanese wood carving and brickwork, its walls use Vietnamese ceramics. Because of the use of ceramics rather than the stone, it is usually being compared as the imitation of Persian mosques.

1 Dirham Silver 999.0 - Great Mosque of Xi'an, Shaanxi, China (2017) - Cond: A+

Located in the northwest region of China called Shaanxi, the Great Mosque of Xi’an is also known as the Great Eastern Mosque. It is the largest mosque in China and is still an active place of worship, primarily for the Chinese Muslims of Hui ethnicity. Constructed during the Hongwu reign of the Ming dynasty, the mosque is a walled complex housing five courtyards.

The Xi’an mosque is an epitome of uniqueness and a symbol of unity and diversity in Islam exemplified through its architecture that was inspired by fusing the authentic traditional Chinese architectural theme with that of Islam. For instance, the 3-storey pagoda structure located in the third courtyard, although is inherently Chinese in its architectural form, was actually used as a minaret, calling people to prayer.

The mosque is also unique in its fusion of calligraphy found everywhere decorating the complex where both Arabic and Chinese calligraphies were merged to illustrate both the high cultural tolerance and diversity found in Islam and of religion in China respectively at that time.
